When you think of Halloween, what comes to mind? Costumes and pumpkins? Or maybe candy, chocolate, and more candy? It’s totally understandable to indulge in the traditional packaged treats and caramel-coated-everything, but there are definitely ways to take part without the processed sugar crash. Here you’ll find 3 different ways to make your Halloween just a little healthier– whether you’re hanging out at home or hosting a neighborhood bash. The best part? No one will even realize!

Pumpkin Butter Cups

Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Butter Cups

Reese’s peanut butter cups are probably one of the most widely liked Halloween candy out there. But what if you could make them yourself, with a pumpkin spin, and without the processed ingredients? Enter: these Pumpkin Butter Cups. The recipe itself is SO simple and really only requires little time. They’re also great to make in advance as they’ll last in the freezer for many weeks. Along with being full of antioxidants and healthy fats, they’re also naturally gluten free and vegan, but you’d never know!

Boonana Shake

BOOnana Milkshake

Since a milkshake is essentially liquid ice cream, it’s hard to imagine coming up with a healthy alternative that still tastes just as decadent…right? Well thankfully for the “nice cream” creation (making fake ice cream out of frozen bananas), we can have our cake and eat it too! This healthier variety tastes just as good if not better than a traditional shake and you won’t feel like crap after. It’s creamy, slightly spiced, and would even be great with some added rum! (just saying.)

Pumpkin Donuts

These raw donuts are far from your traditional apple cider fried cakes, but just as delicious and a lot easier. Not only are they both vegan and gluten free, but they don’t even require turning your oven on! Packed with protein, fiber and healthy fats, these donuts will have even your kids jumping up and down. Win/win!

No matter what foods you’re enjoying this Halloween, we hope you’ll come celebrate with us on October 28th from 11am-2pm during our Halloween Celebration! All ages are welcome to trick-or-treat around the store. We’ll have face painting, a Halloween story book reading thanks to our friends at Writers & Books, a ‘guess the pumpkins’ contest for the chance to win a fall-themed gift basket, and more!
