I drove out to Naples yesterday, and after an hour and a half drive through the lovely countryside with all the fall colors and tractors on the road, I started to near the town. The problem being, I had no address of where I was going. I had spoken to Jeni earlier on the phone and she said “Absolutely! Come get pies. Call me back to confirm if you’re going to pick them up.”
On Thursday, September 25, at 2 p.m., Hart’s Local Grocers will deliver a case of local apples to the Center for Youth. Hart’s will continue to donate one case per week, for 12 weeks. Totaling 140 dozen apples, this donation is a nod to the 140th birthday of Alfred Hart, owner of the original Hart’s Food Stores, who was born that day in 1874.
Hart’s is proud to team up with ROC City Values and Headwater Foods to get SUPER foods onto the plates and into the bellies of city kiddos. This is a collaborative effort among ROC City Values, Headwater Foods, RCSD Teachers, and Hart’s Local Grocers to balance out healthy meals alongside fresh produce from the “Farm Fresh, City Fresh” project.
