Hey, Rochester! You’ve been waiting patiently. (And so have we!) The truth is, we’re just days away from announcing our Grand Opening. In the meantime, let’s step back a few months . . .
After making a splash at various farmers’ markets around the city, Eat Me Ice Cream took off. With signature flavors like lavender goat cheese, hibiscus & dulce, and peaches & cream, Eat Me is hard to resist. And every so often Amber and Cait surprise us all with zany combinations like the taco sandwich: a scoop of pinto bean, a scoop of spicy tomato, and a scoop of creamy avocado, topped with shredded tortilla chips. Yum!
It was an absolutely beautiful day to take a detour from I-90 to visit one of our farmstead, artisanal cheese makers. I eventually arrived at Chase Road in search of Chaseholm Farm. I instantly got the sense that the Chase family had been in this place and working this land for generations. It was quite wonderful to see this brother and sister team maintain the family’s agricultural legacy and to produce something that is pretty darned tasty too!
It’s only been a few days since we first met Herb Ouzer, but it sure feels longer than that. We were just ecstatic when Herb’s son Marc reached out to us last week to let us know about his dad’s 100th birthday. As it turns out, Herb was a Store Manager for many years at the old Hart’s Food Stores in Rochester.
